Let's benefit from China Chemicals

ECHA to Add 15 Chemicals to SVHC List

(2009-9-2)

On September 1st, 2009 The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) proposed to add fifteen chemicals to an EU list of ¡°substance of very high concern¡± (SVHCs). Chemicals on this list could eventually be subject to tough authorization requirements under the REACH regulation after public comment period.
In October 2008, the first batches of 15 SVHCs were published on ECHA¡¯s official website. In June 2009, ECHA added 7 substances of very high concern (SVHCs) in the Authorization List (Annex XIV).
The number of SVHCs in the Authorization List is increasing, and enterprises have to optimize their production process and use environmentally friendly raw materials, their production costs also increase. So manufactures and distributors may take great risk in export business.
China¡¯s experts in pesticide also call the attention of the Chinese pesticide manufacturers to these 15 substance as well as their properties, so as to adjust production portfolio for more market share. The proposed 15 substance include anthracene oil, Coal tar pitch, 2,4-dinitrotoluene, tris(2-chloroethyl)phosphate and etc.
